Announcing HydraCAD SMaRTools

What is SMaRT?

SMaRTools stands for System Modeling and Rendering Tools.

These tools integrate fully into HydraCAD and allow you to draw in 2D just like you always have. Then, with the pressing of a few buttons, HydraCAD does the work of turning it into a full 3D model of your sprinkler system. After that you can bring it over to Navisworks for full 3D co-ordination and collision detection of all the relevant trades. Visit our Navisworks page for a PowerPoint presentation on coordinating trades using these drawings.

You draw the piping, attach a few elevations and SMaRT does the rest: Figures hanger lengths, riser nipple lengths, drop lengths and the elevations of hydraulic reference points.

We do all the work so you don't have to.

Will you be forced to use SMaRT? No! You will have two shortcuts on your desktop - one will use SMaRT, the other will go into the HydraCAD you have always been using.

Here is what one of our beta testers has to say about HydraCAD SMaRT:

...Having had the opportunity to be part of the beta process for SMaRTools has been a great experience. And, now that I have been working with SMaRTools for some time (pretty much exclusively on all projects now - old and new!), that I must absolutely commend you for your creativity, thoughtfulness and efforts. Not only does the SMaRTools package have a learning curve that is basically a "smooth, flat, horizontal" line, the time saved by using the tools is exponential. You can't get much better than that. We draw pretty much the same way we have for years and yet we can now do many things faster!
Once again you've proven that HydraCAD is the premier engineering package in the industry. Keep up the great work! -
Joe Oliver, Shambaugh and Son L.P.
